Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Sirsi Taluka Agricultural Produce Co-Operative Marketing Society Ltd. (“TMS Sirsi”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use the online member portal at members.tmssirsi.com(“Portal”).
1. Who this applies to
The Portal is intended for registered society members, assimi (associate) members, and registered purchasers who hold an account with TMS Sirsi. By signing in or browsing public areas of the Portal, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Portal, we may process:
- Account identifiers — your account number, member type (society, assimi, or purchaser), and branch.
- Contact details — the mobile number registered with TMS Sirsi and, after sign-in, your name and related contact information held in society records.
- Authentication data— one-time passwords (OTPs) sent to your registered mobile number, hashed OTP records, sign-in timestamps, and optional “remember this device” session preferences.
- Session information — a secure, httpOnly session cookie used to keep you signed in.
- Financial and operational records — deposit balances, loan details, stock, sales history, and similar data already maintained by TMS Sirsi, displayed to you after authentication.
- Preferences you save — for example, saved bank account labels and details you choose to store in Portal settings.
- Technical logs — standard web server and security logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) needed to operate and protect the Portal.
3. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Verify your identity using OTP-based login.
- Display your account, deposit, loan, stock, and sales information.
- Process requests and settings you submit through the Portal.
- Show public market rates and related market information.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Comply with applicable law and cooperative society obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. The Portal is operated for the benefit of TMS Sirsi members and is not an advertising platform.
4. Where information is stored
- Portal authentication — login credentials, OTP records, and session data are stored in Cloudflare D1 (secure cloud database) associated with the Portal.
- Member and transaction data— account balances, sales, stock, and related records are retrieved from TMS Sirsi's on-premises systems and are authoritative in those systems.
- Communications — OTP messages are delivered via SMS to the mobile number on file for your account.
Data may be processed on servers located in India and, for Portal authentication infrastructure, with Cloudflare's global network. We take reasonable steps to protect data in transit and at rest.
5. Cookies and device memory
The Portal uses an essential session cookie to maintain your signed-in state. Society members may optionally enable “Remember this device”, which extends the sign-in period on that browser for up to 90 days. You can end a session by signing out or clearing cookies in your browser. The login page may also store your remember-device preference in local browser storage.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We may share information only when necessary:
- With service providers that help operate the Portal (hosting, SMS delivery, and secure connectivity), under appropriate confidentiality and security arrangements.
- With TMS Sirsi staff who need access to assist you or maintain society records.
- When required by law, regulation, court order, or lawful government request.
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of TMS Sirsi, members, and the public.
7. Data retention
OTP records are kept only for the short period needed to complete verification. Session records expire according to your sign-in choices. Financial and membership records follow TMS Sirsi's record-keeping policies and applicable cooperative and banking regulations. Technical logs are retained for a limited period for security and audit purposes.
8. Your choices and rights
You can access most of your account information by signing in to the Portal. If your registered mobile number is incorrect or missing, contact the TMS Sirsi office to update society records — OTP login depends on the mobile number on file. You may request correction of inaccurate personal data held by the society, subject to verification and applicable law.
9. Security
We use HTTPS, hashed OTP storage, httpOnly session cookies, and internal API keys to protect Portal traffic and backend access. No online system is completely secure; please keep your mobile device safe and do not share OTP codes with anyone.
10. Children
The Portal is not directed at children and is meant for account holders and authorized users of TMS Sirsi accounts.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Portal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
